PaddagangPaddagang Restaurant is situated in the historic Church Street of Tulbagh. With its picturesque Cape Dutch facade and gardens, it gives visitors a glimpse of olden days gone by. The restaurant is well known for its traditional Cape Cuisine food and menus are tailor made to suit each individual. Paddagang lends itself towards small, intimate weddings.
In summer time, one can seat 70 guests in the courtyard and 50 guests inside or you can use the inside space as a dance floor. During winter we light our two fireplaces, which give the restaurant a very cozy and intimate atmosphere. Venue Hire A venue fee of R 2000-00 will be levied in addition to the menu prices. If you will be using our garden for photos, pre – drinks and snacks, R 500-00 will be added to the venue fee of R 2000-00. If you wish to have the ceremony in our garden, an additional hiring fee of R 1000-00 will be required. This fee will secure your reservation. All extras costs for the ceremony will be for the clients account. The venue hire includes: Exclusive use of the venue for duration of function for groups more than 50. Cutlery, crockery, glassware and white napkins up to 60 guests. Yellow wood -chairs and -tables. Setting of the table, table numbering and cleaning afterwards. The wedding cake knife. For every 12 guests, one waiter is provided. Gift Table. Car guards. Background music. The venue hire excludes: Hiring of extra glasses, cutlery & crockery for functions with more than 60 guests. Tablecloths, overlays, chair covers Hiring of extra tables & chairs All decor & flowers Gazebo Music DJ Red Carpet Service Fee Menu Selection A large choice of set menus is presented by Maretha, who will arrange a meeting with you to discuss your favorites and combine a menu tailored to your tastes. For children under the age of 12, we offer our kiddies menu or the same menu selection at half price. Contact us for a detailed menu selection. Bar & Wine Our wine list consists of a selection of award winning, local wines. For functions we do have a cash bar and the setup cost is R 500-00. This includes the barman, ice and ice buckets. Corkage of R20.00 per bottle - wine and champagne - consumed but not purchased on our premises, will be added to your bill. Juice for the table can be ordered at R25.00 per 2Lt glass jug. Hours Lunchtime functions must be finished by 17:00. Evening functions: Guests may start arriving from 17:00. The bar closes at 24:00. Should the bar be required to stay open later than midnight, R200.00 for every half hour will be added to the account. The restaurant closes at 00h30.
Confirmation and booking Please remember that the total venue fee is payable 8 weeks prior to the wedding, and that this will confirm your booking. The deposit is forfeited if the function is cancelled. We accept only cash or internet transfer payment. The total food and wine (ordered prior to function) account, must be paid 7 days prior to the function. Credit cards are only accepted if we add 5% commission on the account. No separate or split bills & no cheques. Please advise us no later than 7 days prior to the function, of the final number of guest attending the function. Please supply us with a table plan and guest list 7 days before the function. A 10% service charge will be added to the final food and beverage account. The client is responsible for damages caused by negligence to Paddagang and will be added to the bill. Paddagang reserves the right to change function prices according to our suppliers. Please check with us with regards to possible price changes. A no show charge will be charged on confirmed bookings. Children are welcome under parental supervision. Function Coordinating Maretha has 16 years experience in the hospitality industry and has great experience in weddings and events. Each client and his/her function are very special to her. Maretha will provide you with the additional service of being your own personal function coordinator, and assist you during the planning of your dream day.
