Fynbos Estate

Nestling in a hidden kloof of the Paardeberg Mountain, is the beautiful Fynbos Estate - wine and olive farm, small winery, guest house, celebration venue and Nature Reserve.

Located 15 kms outside Malmesbury and just an hour from Cape Town, this magical farm is a perfect venue for a country wedding and a weekend wedding event.
Fynbos offers only one event a day so you won't be rushed and will have access to all of the numerous spaces of tranquillity, simplicity and natural beauty. These include the Pavilion, the wrap-around Victorian Farmhouse and, the chapel all of which are surrounded by indigenous gardens, vineyards and mountain.

Many couples choose to marry in the garden. Others exchange vows in the old chapel with all its original 1850 features and wide windows that look out onto the valley. For your reception we can accommodate up to 80 under cover in the magical pavilion with its wooden floors for dancing and adjustable awnings. Or, if you choose you can dine in the gardens under the oaks.

Food is Johan's passion and ingredients are farm grown or sourced wherever possible and tailored to your taste. This is whether this is a spit braai, an Indian feast or Mediterranean country cooking. Wine comes from Dragonridge Winery - which is part of Fynbos Estate - and is delicious

 
The Celebration Weekend
With regard to accommodation, the Farmhouse can sleep 16, Fynbos House 8-11 and Fynbos Cottage 2-4. All are beautifully situated, comfortable and well appointed and facilities on the farm and nature reserve offer a host of activities. These include swimming under the mountain, a raku fireplace to sit around in winter, wine tasting and winemaking, a large domestic library , satellite TV and Wi Fi and many verandas to relax upon. Best of all however, are a host of rambling and hiking paths with spectacular views from the top of Dragonridge and Sonkop mountains.

All in all, Fynbos Estate is elegant and beautiful yet unpretentious.. It offers wonderful food and wine, comfortable accommodation and a relaxed and easy atmosphere. We are also committed to keeping our prices reasonable.
